The Amazing Spider-Man is a American superhero film directed by Marc Webb, based on the comic book of the same name and starring Andrew Garfieldas the Marvel Comics character Spider-Man. It is the fourth Columbia Pictures film that portrays Spider-Man in film and is a reboot of the film series that stars the superhero. The cast includes Garfield as Peter Parker and his alter ego, Emma Stone as Gwen Stacy and Rhys Ifans as Dr. Curt Connors. The film will portray Parker as his super powers are evolving in high school.

An outcast teenager, who was abandoned by his parents as a boy, Parker has the challenge of finding out what he really is after his radioactive spider bite.
His quest leads him to Dr. Curt Connors, his father's former partner, and a confrontation unfolds with The Lizard. Peter must make the choice to use his powers and transform into a superhero leaping around the skyscrapers of Manhattan, which comes under a biological attack.
The film also stars Emma Stone (The Help) as his love interest, Denis Leary (the voice of Diego in Ice Age) as her father, the police chief hunting down Spider-Man, and veteran actors Martin Sheen and Sally Field as Peter's aunt and uncle.
